2011 Sunset Properties Housekeeping Seminar Held March 19th

Sunset Properties held its 2nd annual Housekeeping Seminar on Saturday, March 19th at the Sea Trail Conference Center, and we had another packed room for the event. We appreciated everyone taking their time Saturday morning to talk about some 'tricks of the trade' to make it easier and more productive to clean vacation rental homes.

David Sides, Housekeeping Manager for Sunset Properties, lead the event. We covered some operational changes planned for the new season, talked briefly about standards and expectations, heard from some of our cleaning product vendors (thanks to Vince and Mike from Brame Products for joining us again this year!), and listened to the company's management team of Pat Wolfe (General Manager) and Ron Watts (President) about their expectations and how the housekeeping role plays into the overall vacation experience for our guests. Phyllis Conner, the Housekeeping Supervisor at Sunset Properties, gave a great 'cleaning tip' session that got plenty of attention from the crowd.

David Sides (left) was moderator for one Q & A session with Pat Wolfe (middle) and Ron Watts (right with microphone) at the seminar.

We had an excellent turnout at the event, including returning and prospective cleaning contractors, homeowners, and Sunset Properties staff.

David Sides got some terrific help from Shane with the raffle tickets at the end of the event for some sample cleaning products that can be used this coming season.

Ocean Isle Projects and Beautification

Greetings from Ocean Isle Beach! There are several updates underway here at Ocean Isle in preparation for the upcoming season.

Pictured above is the public boat ramp located under the bridge at Ocean Isle. The area has been re-paved and now holds twice the number of parking spaces which are available for boaters to use while they enjoy a fun day on the water.

Also, there are several road projects scheduled to be completed prior to the Easter holiday. First street as well as Causeway Drive will under go a type of "re-surfacing", which will help to improve the roads that are most used on the island. There are several other road projects scheduled to take place on the mainland.

Vendors will be on hand along the beach strand again this summer selling refreshments to those that are out enjoying a day in the surf and sand. The town has permitted for five vendors to be allowed to sell their product along the strand, which will be great for all of us who depend on yummy italian ice to cool us off while we spend the day out on the beach!

Stay tuned for more updates about "goings on" here at Ocean Isle as we prepare for another wonderful summer here at the beach.

See you this summer!
