Hooked on Fishing

Fishing is a popular activity down here at the beach with our guests. If you're planning on fishing while on vacation this year, you'll have to get a license. The only places you don't need a license are the fishing pier and a charter boat trip. Out of state residents pay $10 for a 10 day license, and in state residents will need to pay $5 for a 10 day license.

Bells at the Beach! The Raleigh Ringers Come to Sunset Beach, April 18, 2009

My husband is part of our church's handbell choir. And while he played the drums and the guitar as a teenager in a band- I'm sure then he never envisioned ringing bells in a church choir- but he loves it!

With his new found interest, we learned of the Raleigh Ringers. They are a truly amazing handbell choir. Their performances are enjoyable and offer unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music arranged just for handbells.

Formed in 1990 in Raleigh, North Carolina, the group have performed in 34 states and this April 18, 2009 at 7:00 pm they will be performing in Sunset Beach!

The concert is at Seaside United Methodist Church 1300 Seaside Road SW Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Tickets are $12. For more information, contact Kathy Parker at 910-579-5753.

You can check out their website: http://www.rr.org/index.html
I also found them on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYyeflyMAqI

If your planning on coming to the beach, I would certainly take in the concert. I promise you will enjoy!
